Plot:

The original journey to the west to retrieve the Sutra was a conspiracy plotted by the Heavens! Just after a few decades, the Sutra has vanished. The Heavens search for the Sutra with plans to use it with corrupted intentions. In order for the Sutra to not fall into the hands of Heaven, the journey to the west will begin once again.

My thoughts:

When thinking of which manhua to showcase first, I had a number of options to choose from. In the end, this was the only choice: a 700 year old tale, masterfully retold for modern audiences, with each page beautifully illustrated in what looks to be oil-colour palette.

This tale is most famous for being key inspiration for many of the characters form the popular "Dragonball" manga and anime series. "Son-Goku" being modeled after "Son-Wukong", and "Oolong" being modeled, in part after "Ba Zhi". although it has beutiful artwork, many of the story elements might be too abstract for western audiences
