What we watched: Spring 2019

One Punch Man Season 2

Status: Still watching

Our expectations were raised (when we heard it was coming out) then lowered, (when it was being produced by a hit-or-miss studio) then raised again (when we actually started watching it. Although the plot takes on a more serious tone, it's still in line with the pacing of the manga (more or less). and the artwork isn't too bad, either. overall a good watch

Kenja no Mago

Status: Still watching, for some strange reason

In term of overall quality, this anime is TRASH (I'm talking Mills & Boone level trash), but we can't seem to pull ourselves away from it. the plot is fine, the animation borders on lazy, and the characters are the definition of superficial, the main character is poorly written and ridiculously OP.

If you like Isekai, you will probably enjoy this one. if not, then this show is not for you.

Kimetsu no Yaiba

Status: Still watching

This is probably our favorite show this season. For one, its at a much slower pace than one would expect, but the characters feel real, and memorable. So far, it has my favorite female lead this year. sorry, Raphtalia, but Nezuko has top spot for now.

Alas, the joys of watching an original work, more so because it is't unlike most of the other recycled tripe that comes out (see the 2nd entry on this list). The artwork is good quality, but not the best. but the theme is original, and I can live with that. We're still not sure why we are drawn to it...

Gunjou no Magmel

Status: Still watching

This is our "Slice-of-Life" fix for the season. Yes it looks like an Action/Adventure/SciFi, but it very much plays out as a Slice-of-Life. It's simple, inoffensive fun
